Father's Day

This year was Brian's first Father's Day and I think he grew alittle taller that day as well. It's really fun to watch Brian in his fatherly roll. He really is a great dad! I actually can remember telling Brian when we were pregnant that I was going to need his help with alot of things cause this baby thing was my first rodeo. And he does help alot but when they talk about that motherly instinct kicking in they certainly weren't kinding. The minute Quinn was born I felt like I'd been doing it all my 24 years.

Anywho this year we celebrated at Marc, Jen and Callan's house.  They'd bought a slip-n-slid for the boys to play on, which I can remember how fun those were when I was growing up and I so wanted to take a slid down it but didnt wanna sit and be wet all day afterwards.  Everyone brought some yummy food to share from hotdogs wrapped in garlic breadsticks (yummy) to a cheescake delight.  It rained for a short time which was fine cause it was nap time for the kiddos anyways and relax and chat time for the adults. My poor baby girl wasn't feeling so well that day. She didnt really wanna eat or be social she just wanted to sit and cuddle. But we hadn't thought anything of it at the time...Here are some pictures we took of the kiddos after naps.

Then we headed home for what we thought would be a relaxing evening followed by an early bed time since we had to work in the morning. But we got home only to find we had challanged the dogs bladder one to many hours and someone had an accident on the living room rug. And let me tell you it was not a small accident or an unscented one for that matter. We ended up tossing the rug by the garbage cans and scrubbed the floors underneath.  After all that excitement I fed Quinn and went to snuggle her into her cozy bed but she was not on the same page. She started to scream and when I say scream I mean scream. I'd never heard that cry from my baby before which had me worried. I gave her some tylenol and brought her into our bed to snuggle but she was still not happy. So I figured she really wouldnt eat much for solid foods that day so maybe she was still hungry. I warmed her up 2 oz of milk, which she'd already had 5 oz, and she drank it down like nothing. Then by this time is was about 9pm and Brian had come in to go to bed and he started to snuggle with her. She had her moments where I though ok she was just hungry and then moments of obvious pain again.  I went and warmed up 2 more oz and turned on Rio, her favorite, she drank the milk (totaling 9 oz now) and was content for about 10 minutes then she started dozing off so I picked her up and put her in her crib.  About 9:45 I crawled into bed and Brian had pass out I was just about to sleep when she started to scream again so I went in and got her. Everyone knows that short 15 minutes of sleep and being unexpectedly awaken is the worst. She was buring up and gasping cause she'd been crying so hard.  I woke Brian and told him I'm taking her in this isn't right. We packed up and headed to the ER only to wait for 1hr in the waiting room and another 2 in a room and 1hr in between each nurse or dr visit. Outcome, double ear infection, poor baby they gave her numbing ear drops and a rx for antibiotics. At 1:30 we'd finally pulled into the driveway and carried Quinn in and put her in her crib. She was out. Then again crawled into our bed and I dont remember anything after that.
So Brian will never forget his first Father's Day thats for sure!

Update: Quinn is still really touchy and has a cough/gag thing going on, possibly a sore throat, she isn't eating solids well but she will drink 6 even 7 oz bottle of milk no problem. We are going to see how things go tonight and possibly make an appt for Friday if we don't start seeing a change.
